Allegra 12 hour(Fexofenadine Hydrochloride) is an allergy medication that provides relief of seasonal allergies (hay fever) such as runny or itchy nose, sneezing, itchy throat, and watery, itchy, or red eyes. Allegra is also used for hives. Fexofenadine HCl is an antihistamine. It works by blocking the action of histamine, a natural substance in your body that produces symptoms of itching, runny nose, sneezing, and watery eyes. Take Allegra tablets exactly as it was prescribed for you.
Allegra 12 hour Side Effects:
The most common Allegra side effects are back or muscle pain, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, insomnia, menstrual cramps, nausea, stomach pain, and tiredness. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as chest pain, fast heartbeat, fever, jaundice, or signs of a serious allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; hives; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.
Who should not take Allegra?
If you are allergic to any of the ingredients of Allegra you should not take it, and should inform your doctor. You must consult your doctor if you have any pre-existing medical conditions, including kidney or liver disease, diabetes, glaucoma, thyroid conditions, enlarged prostate, urinary problems, heart disease or high blood pressure. It is very important to also consult your doctor if you are taking any other medications as they may interact with Allegra, such as ketoconazole and erythromycin. Allegra is not suitable for children under 4. Giving cough and cold medicines to young children can be fatal and you should always seek a doctor’s advice before giving medicine to children. The consumption of alcohol may increase side effects of Allegra and should therefore be avoided.
