REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) is prescribed for the treatment of major-depressive disorders. According to neurologists, depression may cause by the deficiency of serotonin, epinephrine, noradrenaline and acetylcholine. REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) maintains the physiological levels of these neurotransmitters and thereby acts as a mood-stabilizer. REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) is also prescribed for the treatment of behavioural disorders such as social-phobia, sleep disorders, panic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, anxiety, somnolence, stress, seasonal and cluster headache and psychological pain disorders. As an off-label use, REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) is prescribed for the treatment of nausea and vomiting, weight loss, psychological anorexia and allergic reactions that are unresponsive to conventional anti-histamines. However, these potential therapeutic benefits are not approved by Food and Drug Administration. REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) is a tetracyclic anti-depressant drug that is chemically unrelated with other anti-depressant drugs and REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) is pharmacologically better than all other SSRI and SNRIs. It may take one to four weeks for REMERON SolTabs to work and it is designed to rapidly dissolve in the patient’s mouth for quicker action.

Who should not take REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine)?

REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) is contraindicated in patients with abnormal suicidal thoughts, kidney or liver disease, sleeping disorders, decreased blood counts with high serum lipid profile values, behavioural problems, changes in vision with miosis, neurological problems including restless leg syndrome and neuro-irritability, agitation, serious myelodyscrasias, urinary distension, profuse sweating, edema and fainting, sexual dysfunction with nocturnal emissions, abnormal peripheral smear study results and fever with chills. You should not take REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine), if you are taking medication such as propranolol, tramadol and other opioid analgesics, diphenhydramine, oxy or hydrocodone, MAO inhibitors, Valproic acid, imipramine, diazepam, lithium, alprazolam, codeine, amitriptyline, hydroxyzine and St.Johns Wort. No adverse events are reported with REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) use in pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, you should consult your Physician, if you are pregnant or nursing mother.

REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) Side Effects:

REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) can cause abnormal suicidal thoughts, nausea, headache, dizziness, abnormal heart beats, postural hypotension, decreased blood pressure, serum lipid profile alterations, drowsiness, dry mouth, confusion, blood dyscrasias, incomplete defecation and abdominal distension and weight gain. Most of these side effects may vary from one person to another.

What should I know before I take REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine)?

  • Do not split the Remeron SolTab tablet before taking
  • Take REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you.
  • For REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) dosage one must follow his doctor's instructions.
  • It may take one to four weeks to feel the therapeutic benefits of REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine).
  • Do not take Over-the-Counter medicines including NSAID and vitamin supplements.
  • Do not stop taking REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) abruptly that may results in withdrawal symptoms.
  • If you experience abnormal suicidal behaviour, stop taking REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) and inform your Physician right away.
  • It is important to take REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) regularly to get the most benefit, as directed by the Physician.
  • If you experience any abnormal behavioural problems or it is complained by your friends or relatives, consult your Physician immediately and inform this problem.
  • Do not take alcohol or tobacco while taking REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine).
  • Do not stop taking REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) without first talking to your doctor, even if you are feeling well. Even after your symptoms improve, you may require continuous treatment for quite some time, as directed by the Physician.
  • Store REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) in room temperature at 25 degree C and away from heat and light
  • Keep away from children and pets.

What happens if I miss a dose of REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine)?

Take the missed dose of REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) as soon as you remember, during the same day. If you do not remember until the next day, skip the missed dose and take REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) next day as routine dose. Do not take a double dose of the medication.

What happens if I overdose of REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine)?

If you experience abnormally low blood pressure with low paced heart beats or suicidal thoughts, it may be a symptom of REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) overdose. In case of REMERON SOLTABS (Mirtazapine) overdose, try to seek emergency medical attention immediately.
