ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) is a muscle-relaxant medicine that is prescribed in the treatment of moderate to severe muscular pain, spasm and sprains. ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) acts on the neuromuscular junctions and the nerve synaptic transmission and thereby ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) alleviates muscular discomforts and spasms and aspirin reduces the pain and inflammation and improves the symptoms. With ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin), rest and physical therapy is required to can improve your symptoms. ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) contains 400 mg of Methocarbamol and 325 mg of Aspirin.
Who should not take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin)?
You should not take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin), if you have pre-existing medical conditions like gastric or duodenal ulcer, renal or hepatic damage, Reyes syndrome, asthma, chicken pox, flu, bloody stools, bleeding or clotting disorder, gout, heartburns, decreased platelet count with or without low fibrin levels and INR values, G-6-PD deficiency and aspirin or salicylates allergy or intolerance. ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) is contraindicated in the last trimester of pregnancy and ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) can pass through the breast milk. If you are a lactating mother, consult your Physician before taking ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin). You should not take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin), if you are taking medicines such as NSAIDS, anticoagulants such as warfarin, coumarin, heparin, danaparoid and other hypoprothrombinemic drugs, recently given flu or chickenpox vaccine and gout medicines. If you are allergic to any of the centrally acting muscle relaxants, you should not take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin).
ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) Side Effects:
ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) can cause aspirin allergy and intolerance, gastritis, ulceration and perforations, red or black or tan coloured stools, blood vomit, nausea, upper abdominal pain or discomfort, pain after food intake, heart burn with hyperacidity, fever, flu like symptoms, ringing of ears with vision changes, dizziness, light headedness, blood coloured urine, taste and smell changes and skin rashes with hives.
How should I take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin)?
The recommended dosage for the ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) is 3.2 mg of Aspirin and 4.8 mg of Methocarbamol daily. In extreme pain, you may need 2 tablets of ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) thrice or four times, daily. The following instruction should be followed to take the ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin): (1) Take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) after your food to prevent or reduce the aspirin induced gastritis and ulceration 2) Take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) while you are sitting or standing up. 3) Take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) with 6 to 8 ounces (about 1 cup) of plain water. Do not take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) with any other drink besides plain water. Do not take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) with coffee, tea, juice, milk or other dairy drinks. 4) Swallow ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) on a whole. Do not chew the tablet or keep ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) in your mouth to melt or dissolve. After taking ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) you must wait at least 30 minutes BEFORE: 1) lying down. You may sit, stand, or do normal activities like read the newspaper or take a walk. 2) Eating or drinking anything except plain water.
Keep taking ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) for as long as your health care provider tells you. For ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) to treat your muscular pain or keep you away from getting the symptoms, you have to take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) as often and in the way ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) as prescribed.
What should I know about ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin)?
- Take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you.
- You should take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) preferably after your food to reduce the aspirin related GI disturbances.
- For ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) dosage one must follow his doctor's instructions.
- If you have bleeding or clotting disorders, you should not take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin).
- Check your platelet count and INR values regularly while you take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin).

- Stop ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) immediately if you have red or black coloured stools.
- It is important to take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) regularly to get the most benefit, as directed by the Physician.
- You need rest and physical therapy to get the maximum benefits by ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin).
- Avoid smoking, alcohol and beverages including tea and coffee while you are in ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) treatment.
- Do not stop taking ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) without first talking to your doctor, even if you are feeling well. Even after your symptoms improve, you may require continuous treatment for quite some time, as directed by the Physician.
- Avoid taking OTC pain medications.
- ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) can interfere and cause false results in laboratory tests including Vanillylmandelic tests and serotonin tests.
- Store ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) as per the instructions on the label.
What happens if I miss a dose of ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin)?
Take the missed dose of ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) as soon as you remember, during the same day. If you do not remember until the next day, skip the missed dose and take ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) next day as routine dose. Do not take a double dose of the medication.
What happens if I overdose of ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin)?
If you experience bloody or red/black stools, fainting, nausea or vomiting, dehydration with thirst, abdominal pain with blood vomit, fainting and dizziness, it may be a symptom of ROBAXISAL (Methocarbamol and Aspirin) overdose. In this case, try to seek emergency medical attention right away.
